Public Participation

The Florida Department of Health, Children’s Medical Services, Early Steps State Office, lead agency for Part C of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act in Florida, is publishing its revised state application in accordance with 34 CFR 303.101. The revised state application includes the final 2018-2019 allocation released on April 16, 2018 from the U.S. Department of Education for FFY 2018. Note: The Public Participation period has concluded for the state application.

Early Steps Policy Handbook and Operations Guide

The Early Steps Policy Handbook and Operations Guide are intended to guide state and local decisions and actions related to implementation of the Early Steps system. These guiding documents represent the official position of the Early Steps State Office and the commitment to ensure Florida has a statewide, comprehensive, coordinated, multi-disciplinary, interagency system to provide early intervention services and supports to infants and toddlers with disabilities and their families inaccordance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), Part C and the Children’s Medical Services, Early Steps Program (391.301 - 391.308, F.S.)
