September 06 - Ovarian Cancer Awareness Walk/Run
Please Join Us!! Please accept our invitation to partner with us in our upcoming Ovarian Cancer Awareness Walk/Run. The goal of this event is to connect and serve our local communities, and to provide a means of awareness as to the services that are available to assist them in their day to day lives. This event will be an opportunity for you to introduce your services to the local community and connect with them on an individual basis. We expect individuals from every facet of the community and others seeking to gain knowledge as to what is offered here in Volusia County. As an exhibitor/vendor, we are asking your agency/company to provide any educational/informational fliers/brochures, free samples and items. We are expecting this Ovarian Cancer Awareness Walk/Run to be an annual event so your participation will make it a success. Details of the event and vendor registration are attached to this email. Public Safety Open House. Please Join Us. 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Saturday September 6. NSB Industrial Park, 246 Industrial Park Avenue. Live demonstrations and static displays will illustrate how your police and fire departments operate to keep NSB residents safe. Activites from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Several hands on exhibits are offered throughout the day. For information please call 386-424-2220.
August 23 and December 05 - Educational activities about healthy lifestyle
Volunteers are needed for a program that offers education activities about healthy lifestyle. There are two program meetings, over four months. Each meeting will last about 2 – 3 hours. Volunteers must be: Female, 21 years of age or older, Able to participate in program activities, Able to be in the program for 6 months, Not Pregnant. Location: Odessa Chambliss Center for Health Equity Learning Room, 113 Lockhart street, Daytona Beach, FL 32114. Odessa Chambliss Center for Health Equity is offering a Smoking Cessation class that is FREE, and it includes the very expensive nicotine gum, and patches!! All FREE of charge. Reducing Tobacco Use and The Dangers of Tobacco Use
Community Group Works to Make Volusia County "Tobacco Free" The Tobacco Free Partnership (TFP) of Volusia County is a partnership of community members working together to reduce tobacco use and provide education on the dangers of tobacco use. The group meets on the 4th Monday of each month at 4:00 p.m., at the Florida Department of Health in Volusia County, 1845 Holsonback Drive in Daytona Beach. Any interested citizen or community group is encouraged to join the effort. The TFP advocates tobacco free policies, including restriction of candy-flavored tobacco and increasing the number of multi-family complexes, businesses, colleges and parks to become tobacco free.
