Meet our Senior Leaders / Roland E. (Ron) Rondeau, MBA, FACHE - Assistant Director for Administration
Roland E. (Ron) Rondeau is the Assistant Director for Administration of the Florida Department of Health in Volusia County. He is responsible for all non-clinical functions within the department, including Human Resources, Finance, Information Technology, Maintenance, Informatics and Assessment and Public Affairs.Ron is a 4th-generation native Floridian and is married to a third-generation Floridian, Victoria. They have three children and enjoy boating and travelling.
Mr. Rondeau has more than 20 years’ experience as a healthcare administrator, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Executive Officer in private and academic healthcare organizations and healthcare insurance companies. He has been the Director of Training and Quality and Performance Improvement for a major California health plan, has led large orthopaedic and ophthalmology practices, and has consulted on operations improvement for several major healthcare organizations across the country.
Additionally, Mr. Rondeau served in the Air Force Reserve as a Medical Plans, Operations, and Intelligence officer for more than 30 years, culminating in an assignment as the Chief of Medical Readiness for the Air Force Reserve, responsible for organizing, training, equipping, and deploying more than 5,000 medical personnel at 40 locations world-wide. His assignments included Deputy Commander and Commander of Aeromedical Evacuation Staging units and Aerospace Medicine units; and as the senior advisor to the Surgeon General of the Ministry of the Interior in Afghanistan. He has led large disaster response exercises and has deployed as the Commander of medical humanitarian missions in Central America.
Mr. Rondeau holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Communications from Florida State University and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from New Mexico Highlands University. He is board certified in healthcare administration, and is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
