Annotated text transcript: Welcome to EMSTARS computer based training. In this demonstration we will go over event submissions, after you have uploaded them using your SFTP client. Click anywhere (in this demonstration screen) to continue... After you have submitted event records, you will receive an email notification like the one shown here. It will include information about your file submission, including your Batch ID. The batch id is a unique identifier assigned to each individual upload. You can use this number to lookup more detail, such as your data quality score, on every file you submit. Click anywhere (in this demonstration screen) to continue... You can check your submission status, under the utilities tab. Click on the 'Utilities' tab to continue... Under the Utilities tab, you will find the Submission Status link. You must visit this section to disposition your file submissions. Also, this is where you can view detailed information on your submissions. Click on the 'Submission Status' link to continue... When you arrive at the main submission status screen, you will be shown file submissions that have not been dispositioned. If you need to see information on files you have already dispositioned, you can use the dropdown list to choose that category. Lets look at all submissions. Click the 'Either Case' selection from the dropdown list to continue... Now the list shows all submissions, whether or not they have been dospositioned. You would want to look at files that you have already dispositioned to see what fields have been flagged, and optionally make corrections to reports for resubmission. Click on the top link under 'File Name' to disposition this batch... When you look at the details of a submission, you can see there is a great deal of information to be found. Besides the general batch information you received in the notification email from the beginning of this lesson, you can export a detailed report with report numbers, of flagged fields. You can also see more detail on your event information, and the top 5 flagged fields. Click anywhere (in this demonstration screen) to continue down this page... At the bottom of the page is where you can acknowledge your file submissions. You should take the time to review any flagged fields, before you acknowledge your submissions. On this page there are two links to do just that. Either the 'here' link at the top of the page above the demographic information, or the 'flagged fields' link at the bottom of the page, in the acknowledgement checkbox text. Click the 'flagged fields' link to continue... Before the report opens, you may see a security warning dialog, like the one shown here. It is safe to click the open button, or you could save it for review later. Click the 'Open' button to continue... This is the detailed report. It shows the fields flagged, in a particular submission, by patient care report number. These errors represent why a paricular field was not accepted as a valid value. Sometimes they are just entry mistakes. They can also be errors within your collection software. But, they can also be errors in our system. In any case, errors should be investigated and corrected. This will insure the best quality data. Click anywhere (in this demonstration screen) to continue... Back on our submission screen, now that we have reviewed our flagged fields, we can now acknowledge our file submission. The acknowledgement check box has been checked. Click on the 'Submit' button to continue... Once acknowledged you will receive notification. You can click the back button to review other batches. This concludes this demonstration.
