Collections and Billing

The Bay County Health Department offers a range of clinical services. The fees associated with our clinic services can be reduced based on a sliding fee scale.  A financial interview must be conducted prior to receiving the clinic service.  This interview is confidential and conducted in a private setting.  The sliding fee scale is based on documented household income and number of dependents residing in the household.  For a complete listing of our clinic services and fees please see our clinical services report.   • Our billing office will file claims for patients who have Medicaid and Medicare.  Documentation of the Medicare card must be presented on the first visit to the clinic.  Medicaid cards must be presented at each visit.  Payment and billing arrangements can be provided for patients and organizations.
  • Payment for Services is due at the time the service is rendered. However, payment plans are available. It is important that all patients receive needed services and that no one is turned away because of inability to pay.

Purchasing

Purchasing is conducted locally for most of the health department needs. Larger purchases such as construction may be conducted with the assistance of the Department of Health office in Tallahassee. To contact the purchasing office call (850) 872-4455 ext. 1219 or ext. 1220 Purchasing Picture

 

Receiving

Receiving hours are 8 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday, except holidays. Deliveries are made at the south entrance to the building using the Florida Avenue entrance. There is a phone at the back door to contact receiving when making a delivery. Receiving Picture

 

Budget and Accounting

Accounting records are maintained through the use of the Florida Accounting and Information Resources system (FLAIR). Cost analysis and reporting are completed locally at the health department.
