What does WIC do?

  • Improves the dietary intake of pregnant women and children
  • Reduces the incidence of low birth weight babies
  • Reduces infant mortality

Eligibility

  • Women who are pregnant
  • Women who have had a baby (until infant is six months old)
  • Women who are breastfeeding (until infant's first birthday)
  • Infants and children under the age of five
  • Must meet certain income guidelines
  • Must have a nutrition related need determined by the WIC nutritionist
  • Must live in Florida
