Why vaccinate?

•
Rabies is a deadly viral disease that can be prevented, but not cured.
•  The virus attacks the brain of warm-blooded animals, including people.
•  The first line of defense against rabies is vaccination of domestic pets.

Protect your pets, yourself, & your family.

Did you know?

...The Okaloosa County Health Department investigates about 60 cases per month where an animal bites a human and may transmit rabies.

...Of the bites investigated...

             •  64% are bites from dogs & 28% are bites from cats
                      •  39% of dogs involved in bites hadn't received or weren't current on rabies vaccinations
                      •  70% of cats involved in bites hadn't received or weren't current on rabies vaccinations

...The only acceptable proof of vaccination for an animal bite investigation is documentation of the vaccination from a licensed veterinarian.
