Breast cancer is the most common cancer among American women. Cervical cancer is highly preventable in most Western countries because of preventative care. Taking preventative measures on a regular basis can lower your risk of dying from breast cancer. The Breast & Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program at the Florida Department of Health in Seminole County is here to educate and raise awareness about breast and cervical cancer through community education and outreach, early detection, and treatment, and to reduce the number of deaths from breast and cervical cancer.

Services offered at the Sanford office include:

• Clinical Breast Examinations

• Mammogram Referrals

• Pap Smears

Services offered to women from Seminole and Lake County:

• 50 to 64 years old without insurance.

• Women ages 40-49 with confirmed breast symptoms upon clinical breast exam by a provider without insurance

Seminole County Breast Education, Screening, and Testing Program (BEST):

• will provide women without insurance from ages 35 and up who have a household income less than or equal to 200 percent of the federal poverty level, residing in Seminole or Lake County, with mammograms and/or diagnostic procedures for free.  This dynamic program will provide written and in person education to individuals or community groups to help decrease the mortality rate from breast and cervical cancer with early screening/detection and care.
