Pamela Blackmon was appointed Administrator and Health Officer of the Suwannee County Health Department in June 2009. Mrs. Blackmon first joined the health department as a public health nurse in 1991. She worked in all of the health department clinics, but is most proud of her accomplishments as the TB nurse in Suwannee County in the early 1990's. The TB case rates at that time were among the highest in the state, but through focused and dedicated efforts those rates were significantly reduced within 2 years.

Mrs. Blackmon is a nursing graduate of Lake City Community College and holds a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from the University of Central Florida, a Masters Degree in Guidance and Counseling from the University of West Alabama and a Masters Degree in Public Health from the University of South Florida. Her goals for the health department are:
