Sanitary Nuisances

Sanitary nuisances are defined in Section 386, Part I, Florida Statutes (F.S.). Commonly reported sanitary nuisances are overflowing septic tanks, improperly functioning lift stations, and improper garbage disposal. The Florida Department of Health - Brevard County Environmental Health Services investigates any alleged sanitary nuisance in any city, town, or area of Brevard County. If the investigated condition is determined to constitute a sanitary nuisance, the Department may take necessary action to require the nuisance condition to be abated in accordance with the provisions of Section 386, F.S. Please contact 321-633-2100 to report a sanitary nuisance condition.
