  Gifford Health Center

Gifford Health Center is a medical office providing health services to all residents of Indian River County and is centrally located and easily accessible from all parts of Indian River County.  The center provides primary care for adults and children ages 3 and up.  At Gifford Health Center, our goal is to care for you and your family when you are ill, but we are also dedicated to keeping you healthy with educational programs. Our staff of physicians and nursing and support professionals are trained in family medicine to assure you and your family receive quality primary medical care.


Whether you have a chronic illness, such as diabetes or high blood pressure, need a routine physical exam, have an earache or sore throat that just won't go away, or you just want a regular wellness check-up, we can provide you with the affordable health care you need.  We offer the following services:


Adult Primary Care

  • Routine health physicals, work physicals and screenings

  • Illness care and well check-ups

  • Hypertension (high blood pressure) treatment and control

  • Diabetes treatment and control

  • Sexually transmitted and communicable disease treatment and control

  • Women's Health (gynecology, pregnancy testing and referrals and family planning)

  • Access to We Care Physician Referral Network

  • Professional medical and support staff

Education and Support

  • Diabetes education program

  • Diet instruction

  • Healthy lifestyles seminars

  • HIV/AIDS education

Family Planning

  • Pregnancy planning/pregnancy prevention

  • Counseling

  • Testing for women, men and teens

Pediatric Primary Care

  • Healthy child check-ups for children ages 3 and up

  • Illness care

  • School physicals

  • Immunizations

  • Referrals to specialty care

  • Professional medical and support staff

Pharmaceutical Assistance Program (for established patients)

  • Participating pharmaceutical companies provide medications at no cost to established health department patients who meet certain financial qualifications

Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STD) Services

  • Confidential and anonymous HIV testing

  • STD exams, testing and treatment

  • STD education

Other Health Services

Medical Fees

  • Medical fees are offered on a sliding fee scale to patients who are eligible.  Please visit our Eligibility webpage for further information.

Accepted forms of payment for services are:

  • Cash or personal check
  • Visa or MasterCard
  • Medicaid and Medicare
  • Florida KidCare
  • Private insurance (we will bill your insurance company, however, if they deny the claim, the patient is responsible for payment of services)
