Pregnancy Testing

Pregnancy testing at the Florida Department of Health in Santa Rosa County is done for the purpose of placing women on presumptive Medicaid.

Only those women who do not currently have insurance or Medicaid should be tested at the health department. If the test is negative for pregnancy, there may be a $25 charge for the visit. These clients may fill out a Family Planning Application for follow-up services.

If the pregnancy test is positive, a clerk will put the client on presumptive Medicaid, if eligible.  The client will also be referred to WIC for prenatal nutrition services.

Things to bring to a Presumptive Eligibility for Pregnant Women eligibility interview:

  • Picture ID
  • Birth Certificate if not born in the state of Florida
  • Income verification for the last 4 weeks for the family unit
