The Florida Department of Health in Seminole County monitors the operation of over 350 tanning devices in Seminole County. Tanning devices are regulated under Florida Administrative Code 64E-17 (PDF 28KB).

 

All tanning facilities are checked twice a year to assure that they are

  • Maintained in good sanitary and mechanical condition.

  • Timers are operating properly.

  • Employees are properly trained.

  • Warning signs are in place.

  • Every device must have the manufacturers recommendations attached to the machine or available on premises.

  • Operator must  have information concerning their liability insurance.
