Every Woman Florida Initiative

Every Woman Florida is a collaborative project between the March of Dimes and the Florida Department of Health aimed at raising awareness on the importance and benefits of being healthy prior to pregnancy and promoting changes at the individual, healthcare provider and system level. The overarching focus is to integrate preconception health into existing healthcare services.

The Every Woman Florida website serves as an information portal for healthcare providers on preconception health. The site contains health tips, assessment tools and printable patient education handouts and guidance for providers on provision of preconception health services based on the CDC recommendations.   Just a little about us:

The Taylor County Health Department serves a rural population of approximately 20,000 with an unemployment rate of more than 7%.  We strive to deliver quality and caring medical and environmental health care to the citizens and visitors of Taylor County.  The Taylor County Health Department is located at 1215 North Peacock Avenue. Taylor County has the honor of having the first Health Department in the State of Florida which opened in 1930. 

The Taylor County Health Department offers a wide variety of services to the citizens and visitors of Taylor County.  These services include primary care, HIV testing and counseling, septic tank permitting, water testing, immunizations, birth and death records, and many other medical and environmental services.  Please see our links on the side of this page that will lead you to further exploration of our services.
