Data Management

The Data Management Team of the HIV Prevention Program is responsible for accurate reporting of the HIV counseling and testing data to CDC, and for dissemination of the data to partners across the state.  Florida has the largest Publicly funded HIV counseling and testing program in the nation. Since testing began in 1985 over 5.3 million testing records have been collected and stored in databases created and maintained by the Data Management team. The data, for 1998 through 2011, are avalible at: 2012 Testing Data Routine quality assurance checks are conducted to make sure the data is as complete and accurate as possible.   These data are important for presentations and grant writing, among other uses.  These data are shared with partners in STD and AIDS patient care and surveillance sections via electronic lab reporting.   The HIV counseling and testing data numbers are the result of efforts by the other teams in the section.  We house data from outreach, interventions, NHBS, TOPWA, ETI, and clients who test as a result of our media campaigns and awareness day events.

We are able to produce ad hoc reports to any specifications requested.  Our yearly data by county and area can be found at: :

Reports in Data at a Glance, an easy-to-read format, can be found at: Data At A Glance Page
