Office of Minority Health Speakers’ Bureau
The goal of the Speakers’ Bureau is to provide additional support to community-based organizations, faith-based organizations, Closing the Gap grantees, and institutions involved in reducing and eliminating health disparities and improving minority health outcomes. Our office shall maintain high standards of integrity in reviewing and selecting speakers for future presentations.

Purpose of the Speakers’ Bureau
To develop a network of health experts which will provide the state of Florida the opportunity to increase their skills in the mastery of public health, health education, and effective and efficient training to target audiences.
Expectations of the Speakers’ Bureau
Educational training to groups by experts in the field of public health that will increase knowledge and awareness to affect change in target groups regarding health care concerns among minority populations.

The Office of Minority Health welcomes health professionals to join the Speakers’ Bureau. We are seeking individuals who have expertise in promoting and increasing awareness regarding Cancer, Cardiovascular Disease, Diabetes, HIV/AIDS, Oral Health, Infant and Maternal Health, Immunization, Health Outcomes Research, Cultural Competency, Funding/Grant Writing, Capacity Building, Health Care Access, and other related health issues.

General Guidelines for Organizations Requesting ServiceIt is the responsibility of the users of the database to contact individual speakers for an event. The Office of Minority Health will continually update and add new speakers to the database. The Speakers’ Bureau will provide a biography of each speaker to use in promotional materials and the introduction of the speaker. The Office of Minority Health wants you to have a successful event; therefore, it is very important that you plan ahead, at least 6-8 weeks prior to your event. Early planning will allow enough time for publicity and securing the logistics needed for the event.
