Florida Department of Health Announces New Press Secretary

FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH ANNOUNCES NEW PRESS SECRETARY
~ Molly Koon Kellogg to serve as agency spokesperson ~

TALLAHASSEE—State Surgeon General and Secretary of Health Dr. John Armstrong today announced Molly Kellogg as Press Secretary for the Department of Health, effective March 15. In this role, Kellogg will serve as the official department spokesperson. She will be responsible for coordinating media interviews with senior Department of Health officials and other subject matter experts as well as conducting earned media campaigns that highlight the many successful programs and extensive services provided through the Department of Health.

Most recently Kellogg served as Director of Communications for the Capital Region YMCA. She previously served as Director of Communications with the Florida Department of Elder Affairs and as a Public Relations Representative with Visit Florida. In addition, Ms. Kellogg served as the Annual Fund Director and Community Education and Advocacy Manager for the Watson Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired in Largo, the Public Relations Manager for The Children’s Home, Inc. in Tampa and the Public Relations and Marketing Associate for The Westin Innisbrook Resort near Tampa.

“The Department of Health has a fundamental responsibility to communicate accurate and timely information,” said Dr. John Armstrong. “I am pleased to have someone with Ms. Kellogg’s depth of experience join the team in our department which provides excellent communication to the people of Florida and visitors to our state.”

Kellogg received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism & Mass Communications from the University of South Carolina in Columbia. In 2006, Kellogg received a Golden Image Award from the Florida Public Relations Association. Kellogg’s involvement in the community includes serving in volunteer leadership roles with the American Lung Association, the American Cancer Society and the Junior League of Tallahassee.
