Clint Sperber Appointed Administrator For St. Lucie County

CLINT SPERBER APPOINTED ADMINISTRATOR FOR ST. LUCIE COUNTY

TALLAHASSEE—The Florida Department of Health has announced Clint Sperber as the new administrator in St. Lucie County. He brings with him over 15 years of public health experience and has served as St. Lucie County's interim administrator since March 2, 2015.

"Clint Sperber's dedication to advancing public health for the people of St. Lucie County has been remarkable," said Deputy Secretary for County Health Systems Kim Barnhill. "I am more than confident that he will carry this same dedication and passion into his new, permanent role as the administrator of St. Lucie County."

Prior to his appointment as administrator for the Florida Department of Health in St. Lucie County, Sperber served as deputy administrator and was responsible for managing several of the health department programs and functions. These included environmental health, epidemiology, public health preparedness and emergency operations, medical clinic management, dental operations, laboratory, facilities management, purchasing, and information technology.

From 2008–2010, Sperber served as the public health preparedness coordinator for region 5. He also worked in a leadership role as a member of ESF 5, ESF 8 and ESF 14 during several declared disasters. Prior to working with the department, Sperber served as associate planner for the Broward Emergency Management Agency.

Sperber holds a bachelor of arts in criminal justice from Florida Atlantic University and a Master of Public Health Administration from Florida Atlantic University. He is a member of Central Florida's Disaster Medical Assistance Team (FL-6), State Medical Response Team and Incident Management Team and is a member of the National Association of County and City Health Official's (NACCHO) 12-member Injury and Prevention workgroup.
