HEALTH TEAMS TO SHOWCASE EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS AND RESPONSE CAPABILITIES IN TALLAHASSEE

TALLAHASSEE—The 2015 hurricane season is in full swing with Floridians preparing for any storm or emergency that may occur. The Florida Department of Health and response partners are preparing as well and invite state and local emergency managers, health care preparedness planners, hospital emergency managers, Emergency Medical Services (EMS) agencies, fire departments, medical and nursing students, and residents and visitors from the Big Bend area to see and learn more about Florida's State Medical Response System Field Capabilities Showcase.

The showcase brings together 12 local and state health and medical teams, equipment and other assets available to support the health and medical system during disasters. In addition, visitors can stop by the State Medical Response Team Recruitment Station to learn more about joining a team and serving their community during disasters as a health care responder.
