Florida Department Of Health Names Office Of Compassionate Use Panel Members

Tallahassee, Fla.—Today, the Florida Department of Health announced members of the Office of Compassionate Use (OCU) substantive review panel to implement the Compassionate Medical Cannabis Act. The OCU panel members include:

  • Christian Bax, Director of the Office of Compassionate Use (OCU)
  • Patricia Nelson, Special Advisor at the Executive Office of the Governor and Member of the Statewide Drug Policy Advisory Council
  • Ann Filloon, Fiscal Unit Director with the Division of Children’s Medical Services of the Florida Department of Health and a Certified Public Accountant.

The panel will conduct a comprehensive review of all applications using the established criteria set forth in Florida Administrative Code Chapter 64-4. The department continues to focus on providing this product to children with intractable epilepsy and people with advanced cancer as safely and quickly as possible.
