Newborn Hearing Screening - Outpatient Previous Winners Archive

Outpatient Audiology Evaluation - Archive 

Babies who do not pass their inpatient and follow-up outpatient hearing screening are evaluated by a licensed pediatric audiologist, preferably a Children's Medical Services approved one. The purpose of the evaluation is to confirm normal hearing or to confirm a hearing loss. Florida's goal is to complete these evaluations by three months of age. Results from these follow-up evaluation appointments are submitted to Florida's Newborn Screening Program within two days of the appointment date. In addition to results from follow-up appointments of babies who did not pass their newborn hearing screenings, audiologist also report the confirmation of a permanent hearing loss for any child in Florida under the age of three. Each month, one outpatient facility is recognized for doing well with completing evaluations and with submitting Diagnostic Hearing Evaluation forms in a timely manner. Below are winners so far:
