In the 21st Century, we must lose the concept of cookie-cutter parks and playgrounds. Communities need the courage to advocate for creativity and innovation in the design of new multigenerational parks that consider the activities appropriate to all age groups. Multigenerational parks can become the focus of a community’s recreational patterns and a source of considerable neighborhood pride. Artistic creativity, conceptual advances, innovative use of safe construction materials, and attention to landscaping detail all contribute to a park that appeals to every age group.
