The American Indian Health Advisory Committee (AIHAC) was created in 2010 to provide guidance to the Office of Minority Health on issues impacting American Indian populations residing in Florida.
Goals:
- Developing strategies to eliminate health disparities among American Indian populations
- Strategizing training needs for American Indian communities
- Identifying gaps in the existing healthcare delivery systems and developing strategies to address these gaps
- Facilitating partnerships that improve the health of American Indians
The American Indian Health Advisory Committee consists of fifteen representatives from Tribes and stakeholders serving Amercian Indian communities and includes the OMH Liaison.
