NAS Whiting Field Virtual Open House – Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS)

NAS Whiting Field

On February 23rd, 2021, the Navy “opened” a virtual open house platform regarding PFAS at NAS Whiting Field. The virtual open house platform can be accessed here:

www.whitingfieldpfas.com/

Consistent with CDC guidelines on social gatherings, the Navy has decided not to hold an in-person open house meeting due to COVID-19. This Virtual Open House platform reflects the Navy’s commitment to keeping the community informed, even with the current limitations to in-person meetings.

The virtual open house platform provides a summary of several topics related to PFAS investigations at and around NAS Whiting Field, including information about:

  • the Navy’s PFAS sampling policy,
  • previous drinking water sampling,
  • current on-base PFAS investigation,
  • current off-base drinking water well investigation,
  • PFAS and potential health effects and
  • the sampling process and timeline.
