This is Men’s Health Month, Encourage Healthy Living

By Florida Department of Health, Office of Communications

June 04, 2014

National Men’s Health Month is celebrated across the country in June of each year with screenings, health fairs, media coverage, and other health education and outreach events. This observance is part of an ongoing initiative that celebrates men’s health and heightens awareness of preventable health problems. This June, encourage fathers, husbands, boyfriends, sons, granddads and friends to seek regular medical advice and early treatment for disease and injury to allow for a longer, happier and healthier life.

So what can you do? It’s simple: Just lead by example! Be smoke-free, prevent injuries, and eat healthy meals. Plan activities that keep your family physically active and encourage the men in your life to make a conscious effort to live a healthier life. This Men’s Health Month, remember that the greatest gift you can give is the gift of good health.
