Tallahassee, Fla.—Today, State Surgeon General and Secretary of Health Dr. John Armstrong kicks off the beginning of the Health in All Places Tour. This tour highlights the many ways Florida’s children, adults and families can stay healthy in their communities and while on vacation at any destination along Florida’s coast. Each step of the tour is being led by Florida’s Surgeon General. Topics include outdoor activities, sun safety and school health.

“’Health in all places means healthy choices are everywhere,” said State Surgeon General and Secretary of Health Dr. John Armstrong. “I am excited to stand with county health department staff, local leaders and residents of coastal counties to see firsthand how health is making a positive difference in their communities.”

The Health in All Places Tour is a chance for state, local and community leaders to come together to highlight what each coastal county has to offer when it comes to health. County Health Departments are located in each county and promote health through local collaboration.

The first leg of the tour begins in Santa Rosa and Escambia counties today and wraps up in Taylor County Friday. Stops will continue throughout the next several months until each coastal county has been visited.
