Florida Waivers
In response to Hurricane Ian, the Florida Department of Health, Bureau of Child Care Food Programs (CCFP) is requesting that the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) approve the following waivers:

Educational or Enrichment Activity Requirements for Afterschool Meals Programs | Allows children to receive afterschool meals and snacks without having to participate in an education or enrichment activity onsite. | Withdrawn | |
Attendence Requirements for Afterschool Meals Programs | Waive attendance recording requirements for all Afterschool Meals Program (AMP) institutions that are implementing non-congregate meal service. | Withdrawn | |
Monitoring Requirements for Sponsoring Organizations | Allow all sponsoring organizations the option to waive pre-approval visits for the next 90 days, and allow for more than 6-months to elapse between reviews of exisiting facilities for the next 90 days. Waive the requirement for on-site reviews and allow of desk reviews of the facilities claim paperwork for the next 90 days. | Approved | November 25, 2022 |
Program Payment Procedures | Request on behalf of sponsoring organizations to waive the requirements to distribute reimbursement to sponsored facilities within 5 days of receipt of the monthly reimbursement. | Approved | November 25, 2022 |
Notification Deadline for Application Approvals | Allow the State Agency up to 45 days after receipt of a complete new application to notify the applicant if the application to particpate is approved or denied. | Withdrawn | |
Audit Requirements | Requesting an extension for Single Audit due dates for CCFP contractors from 90-days to 180-days. In addition, FDOH would like to request an exemption for the audit requirement for CCFP contractors who have lost all records. | Denied | N/A |
