iPhone Mobile Apps 

The following Immunization-related iPhone mobile apps have been approved by DOH for download and use (approved for iPhone only).

MMWR Express is available for free download in the Apple App Store for both iPhone and iPad. This application provides fast access to the blue summary boxes in the MMWR Weekly. Summaries can be viewed by publication date or by searching for a specific subject. The app can quickly check for new content, ensuring that users always have the most up-to-date information. Users also can share content with others via email, text message, Facebook, or Twitter.

The TravWell app helps you plan for safe and healthy international travel. Build a trip to get destination-specific vaccine recommendations, a checklist of what you need to do to prepare for travel, and a customizable healthy travel packing list. The app also lets you store travel documents, keep a record of your medications and immunizations, and set reminders to get vaccine booster doses or take medicines while you're traveling.

Features include: authoritative recommendations, during-travel features available offline (no data connection needed), fully customizable to do list and packing list, emergency services phone numbers for every destination, and easy-to-use and fun app.

The The Influenza application for clinicians and other health care professionals makes it easier than ever to find the latest recommendations and influenza activity updates on your iPad. Features include updated information on national flu activity, influenza vaccination recommendations, information on diagnosis and treatment of influenza, information on laboratory testing for influenza, and videos of subject matter experts discussing influenza topics.

Health care professionals who recommend or administer vaccines can access all recommended immunization schedules and footnotes using the Vaccine Schedules app. Optimized for tablets and useful on smartphones, the app shows the child, adolescent, and adult vaccines recommendation.

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) Red Book is available as a free mobile app. Current immunization information with annual schedules and Vaccine Status Tables are included. Once the app is downloaded to a device, Red Book Online subscribers will be able to unlock full access to the content and features by logging in with the same AAP log-in and password used for Red Book Online.

The Society of Adolescent Health and Medicine (SAHM) THRIVE (Teen/Young Adult Health Resources, Information & Vaccine Education) App was developed by the SAHM and supported by Pfizer, Inc. and Unity Consortium, to provide parents of teens and young adults with a mobile, interactive resource for managing teen health. The app is available on iOS and Android devices and includes guided health information, supportive tips, and conversation starters to help parents answer tough questions and prepare their teens and young adults to take ownership of their health.
