A state of emergency for the opioid epidemic was declared in the Spring of 2017. As a result, the FL-OD2A program collaborated with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF), the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA), and the Florida Perinatal Quality Collaborative (FPQC) to assess and compile opioid-related data across many surveillance systems leading to the development of a public Substance Use Dashboard (www.FLHealthCHARTS.gov).
The long-term and visionary outcomes of the FL-OD2A program include: partners design, target, implement, and evaluate opioid prevention programs informed by FL-OD2A data, more effective overdose prevention efforts in target areas, and reduce morbidity and mortality rates due to overdose prevention.
The FL-OD2A is currently collaborating with the following partners.
- Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)
- Department of Children and Families (DCF)
- Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA)
- Florida Perinatal Quality Collaborative (FPQC)
- Florida Hospital Association
- Florida Medical Association
