Human Trafficking

To report Human Trafficking to law enforcement in Florida, call

Human Trafficking is the recruitment, harboring, transporting, providing or obtaining, by any means, a person for labor or services involving forced labor, slavery or servitude in any industry, such as forced or coerced participation in agriculture, prostitution, manufacturing, or other industries or in domestic service or marriage. Regardless of the type, human trafficking survivors often suffer psychologically and physically. Trafficking affects not just individuals and families but the safety and well-being of communities. The Department of Health is committed to Florida’s zero tolerance stance to end trafficking.

Trafficking Response Partnerships

The Department of Health is an active participant in the Florida Statewide Council on Human Trafficking. Members include law enforcement officers, prosecutors, legislators, as well as experts in the fields of health, education and social services. The Council is chaired by Florida’s Attorney General to build on existing state and local partnerships – including task forces and coalitions - to combat human trafficking. Meeting notices, annual reports and state and local initiatives can be found at MyFloridaLegal.com.

The Florida Alliance to End Human Trafficking, created by the Florida legislature, provides education, awareness and training to support the statewide efforts to end trafficking. Free online trainings are available for multiple industries and professions as well as concerned Floridians. Sign up for podcasts, newsletters or download free resources at FloridaAllianceEndHT.com.
