As the lead agency for Emergency Support Function 8 (ESF8), the Florida Department of Health is responsible for coordinating public health preparedness efforts statewide. The Florida Health Response website - provides a central location to access the diverse applications that support key preparedness and response activities.
The Florida Department of Health has an established online public health alert and notification network capable of rapid distribution of health alerts and messages to a defined set of individuals. The current application for the network that provides real-time secure communications is the Everbridge Mass Notification System. The system provides public health professionals and key response partners timely and relevant access to information necessary to respond to incidents or events that may be of urgent public health consequence.
