Epilepsy Services Program & Providers

Contact the Epilepsy Program

The Epilepsy Services Program provides patient assistance and referrals, education, and prevention services to individuals with epilepsy.

The Department contracts with organizations located throughout the state for services. While each organization may not have a physical office in each county, they must provide services in each county, ensuring every resident has an opportunity to access services.

The goal of this program is to increase the independency of  individuals with epilepsy, the knowledge of the public about epilepsy, the research behind this condition, and most importantly understand the neurological functions in individuals with epilepsy.

Section 385.207(2)(a), Florida Statutes, ensures that the Department's program can provide care and assistance to individuals with epilepsy, and promote/assist in the continued development and expansion of programs for case management, diagnosis, care, and treatment (including required pharmaceuticals, medical procedures, and techniques).

Epilepsy Services Providers

Any resident of Florida diagnosed with epilepsy, or is suspected of having epilepsy, and needs the program's services can apply to be a client.

The program provides prevention, education, and referral services to all residents. If the client needs medical services and the client's gross family income is at or below 100% of the federal poverty income guidelines, services are provided free of charge. If the client's gross family income is more than 100% of the federal poverty income guidelines, medical services are provided on a sliding fee scale.
