All renewals for Radiologic Technology have moved to Licensure Services. Please do not contact the certification unit regarding renewals for this profession. You may contact licensure services atMQAOnlineService@flhealth.gov.

Licensees, registrants and permit holders are required to renew their licenses biennially in order to maintain the right to practice.

Current licenses expire at midnight, Eastern Time, on the last day of the birth month of the licensee.

To ensure you receive your renewal notification from the department, your current mailing address must be on file. Failure to renew an active license before the expiration date will result in the license being placed in an expired status. Failure by an expired licensee to reactivate within ten (10) years of becoming expired renders the license null and void without any further action by the board or the department.

Licensees requesting to reactivate their license from inactive status are required to pay additional fees and comply with specific continuing education requirements. Please contact the board office at mqa.rad-tech@flhealth.gov to request your reactivation requirements.

The department will renew your license upon receipt of:

  • Completed renewal application
  • Required fees
  • Continuing Education

  • For other methods of obtaining continuing education per biennium refer to rule 64E-3.008

Helpful Information

  • No more than 3 of the 12 CE's may be classified as personal development, which are courses not directly related to your field of practice, such as CPR.
  • The balance of hours must be classified as technical radiation protection, equipment operation, etc.
  • All continuing education used to renew a certificate must have been earned in the current renewal cycle and the same course cannot be repeated in the same cycle.
  • The ASRT submits CE information to FL monthly (approximately mid-month) for their members who hold current Florida certification.
  • If you have received your renewal notice and your CE information is not current, you may fax CE to our office at (850) 245-4791. We cannot accept CE from you except during this period.

At least 60 days before your license expires, the department will mail you a renewal notification to your last known mailing address of record. You will have until midnight, Eastern Time, on the day your license expires to renew. Failure to renew an active license by the expiration date will result in the license being placed in an expired status. At any time a licensee may elect to enter an inactive status. Failure by an expired or inactive licensee to reactivate within ten (10) years of becoming expired or inactive renders the license null and void without any further action by the board or the department.

Expired and Inactive licensees will not receive a renewal notice.

Renew License

Renewal Instructions

  1. Go to www.flhealthsource.gov and click the "Renew A License" button.
  2. Enter your Personal Identifying Information (PII), then click the Login button.
  3. Confirm or update your MQA Services Account email address, then click the "Continue" button.
  4. You are now in the Dashboard. During renewals, a "Renew My License" option will populate no later than 90 days prior to your license expiration date. (Note: If you do not see the "Renew My License" option, please check back at a later time.)

*** If the "PII Failed" screen displays, click the "Other Login Option" button and enter your existing User ID and password to access your account.***

  • You may renew online if you have a credit or debit card to complete the transaction.
  • Please note: If you do not have a credit or debit card, you can now renew online, print a copy of your application summary and mail it with your cashier's check or money order to:

If you are reactivating your license, please refer to the laws and rules governing your practice for additional requirements.

Certified check or money order should be made payable to the Florida Department of Health.

If renewing BEFORE your license expires, your fees will be:
Active to Active*$55.00
Active to Inactive$40.00
Inactive to Active$55.00

If renewing AFTER your license expires, your fees will be:
Expired to Active*$155.00

If reactivating OUTSIDE the renewal cycle, your fees will be:
Inactive to Active*$55.00

*An additional $40.00 will be charged for each certification added after the first.

A certificate that has been inactive or expired for 10 years or more automatically becomes NULL and VOID and may not be reactivated.

By submitting the appropriate renewal fees to the department, a licensee acknowledges compliance with all requirements for renewal, including continuing education.
