In response to the nation’s opioid epidemic, the Florida legislature passed, and House Bill 249 was signed and required the Florida Department of Health (Department) to create a quarterly report that summarizes raw overdose data received by the Department from licensed emergency medical services (EMS). The report is to be provided to the Statewide Drug Policy Advisory Council, the Department of Children and Families, and the Florida Fusion Center. In addition to this quarterly report the data is made immediately available to county level first responder and public health agencies.

Please contact the department at EMSData@flhealth.gov if you need further information about Biospatial or FL Enhanced State Opioid Overdose Surveillance.
