New Infant Meal Pattern Workshop

Beginning February 21st, the Child Care Food Program (CCFP) will offer New Infant Meal Pattern workshops in select cities.   This training is primarily for CCFP managers/center directors and child care staff that purchase, prepare, and serve meals to infants.  Training coordinators of sponsoring organizations or other child care staff that provide training to sponsored sites are also welcome and encouraged to attend.

We will conduct the workshop in one 2½ hour session.  This optional workshop will focus on new meal pattern requirements and policies when feeding infants in the Child Care Food Program.  It will also cover nutrition and infant development issues, creditable foods, and good communication between parents and child care providers regarding the nutritional needs of infants.  A schedule for the workshop is included on the back of this memo and on our website.

If you are interested in attending this workshop, please use our online registration system.  From our website homepage ( click on “Training Opportunities”.  Under the heading “Training for Existing CCFP Contractors”, “Nutrition”, click on “Nutrition Workshops”.   At the bottom of the page, click on “Workshop Registration”.  After completing the online registration form, a confirmation notice will be sent to the email address you provide.

Due to limited space, please register on our website at least one week prior to the date of the workshop to reserve a space in the session you wish to attend. If you plan to make reservations for more than two people per contractor, please call for registration assistance.

If you are unable to attend the workshop, please visit the CCFP website homepage (mentioned above).  Click on “Nutrition and Menu Planning” and “Feeding Infants” to view available resources and education materials regarding the new meal pattern for infants.
