Child Care Facilities Emergency Planning Guide & Templates Working Together to be Prepared - Planning guide directed to day care providers and facility managers, intended to provide assistance in meeting planning requirements necessary to protect employees and children in the facility. The document provides planning instructions, a template facilities can use to insert information, and emergency checklists. Developed by Arkansas Department of Human Services, Division of Child Care and Early Childhood Education, Child Care Licensing.

Disaster Day Care Guide – This web page contains resources and a guide for helping child care providers establish an Emergency Response Plan.  Resources were developed as a collaboration of the Florida Departments of Health in Hernando and Pasco counties in coordination with the Early Learning Coalition, the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office and Hernando and Pasco County emergency management.

Disaster Preparedness Plan 2011 - Ft. Lauderdale Children's Medical Services - Plan developed by the Ft. Lauderdale Children's Medical Services (CMS) office which works in collaboration with the Substance Abuse and Health Care services Division of Broward County to implement a Broward County emergency shelter for children with special health care needs.

Early Learning Coalition of Sarasota County Disaster Preparedness - Handout to assist child care programs develop disaster emergency plans, contains links to websites with disaster planning resources including a sample disaster plan template.

Emergency (Evacuation) Plan Template - Emergency plan template for evacuation of child care facilities in case of an emergency.  The template includes emergency evacuation policy and procedures for a variety of potential hazards and provides a format for inserting facility information.  Developed by North Carolina department of Health and Human Services, Division of Child Development.

Providing Mass Medical Care with Scarce Resources: A Community Planning Guide - Provides community planners, as well as planners at the institutional, state, and federal levels information on planning for and responding to a mass casualty event. Emergency Preparedness Planning Guide for Child Care Centers and Child Care Homes - These guidelines were developed for child care centers/child care homes in the State of Illinois to help with their development of a plan for emergency situations. Tailor these guidelines to meet the needs of your child care center/
child care home and consult with key representatives within your agency to ensure compliance with state and federal
laws and regulations.

U.S. Department of Education Emergency Planning - Webpage with information that can help school leaders plan for any emergency, including natural disasters, violent incidents, and terrorist acts.

Talking to Kids about Disasters: Parents and teachers should visit Ready.gov for information on helping kids (from birth to 11+ years old) cope after an emergency situation. Another helpful resource is a 16-page Ready Kids Activity Book, which teaches children about emergency preparedness through cartoon strips, crossword puzzles and coloring pages.
