DOH Announces 2025 FRAME Program Application Cycle for Eligible Health Care Professionals

Tallahassee, Fla. — In 2024, Governor Ron DeSantis and the Florida Legislature expanded the Florida Reimbursement Assistance for Medical Education (FRAME) program by increasing funding to $55.8 million and expanding eligibility for Fiscal Year 2024-2025, allowing more eligible health care professionals to receive funding.  

FRAME supports medical, dental, and mental health professionals by offsetting educational expenses that they incurred during the pursuit of their licensure. FRAME helps enhance access to advanced medical training and fosters a more robust health care workforce throughout Florida, especially in underserved communities, to meet the growing demand for qualified health care professionals.  

Award Information 

  • Eligible participants can receive reimbursement for up to $250,000 of qualifying educational expenses, including tuition, fees, and related costs. 
  • Eligible licensed professionals can apply for an annual award contributed toward the remaining principal of their educational loans. 

Eligible Health Care Professionals 

  • Physicians with primary care specialties, including psychiatrists 
  • Physician Assistants (PA) 
  • Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRN) 
  • Autonomous APRNs (AAPRN) 
  • Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) 
  • Registered Nurses (RN) 
  • Licensed clinical social workers, marriage and family therapists, mental health counselors, and psychologists (New for 2025) 
  • Dentists 
  • Dental Hygienists (New for 2025)

Eligibility Requirements 

  • All applicants must hold a clear/active Florida license throughout the entire cycle from application submission to receipt of awards if selected. 
  • Providers must currently provide services within a federally designated health professional shortage area or statutorily specified facility type. 
  • All applicants will complete at least 25 hours of volunteer service at a free clinic or through a voluntary program as defined in Chapter 110, Florida Statutes
