Theย HHS Exchange Visitor Programย is administered by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). Physicians applying for this waiver must submit a letter of support/acknowledgement from their state health department.

In Florida, the Florida Department of Health’s Primary Care Office provides support/acknowledgment letters. The program is designed to improve access to the shortage of qualified primary care doctors within federally designated health professional shortage areas to address health disparities across the country.


Process to Apply

The request form for a letter of support/acknowledgement can be emailed to FL.PCO@FLHealth.gov or mailed to:

After Application

After reviewing the submitted request, the letter of support/acknowledgement will be drafted and emailed to the physician and the person requesting the letter to be included with the physicianโ€™s application being filed with HHS.


Changes

Any changes that result in the necessity of a new letter of support/acknowledgement from the Florida Department of Health would require a new request form.
