The Florida Department of Health administers volunteer health services in 11 regions throughout the state. Regional coordinators work with community partners to promote access to quality health care for the medically underserved and uninsured residents of Florida, by leveraging the efforts of our dedicated volunteers.
Two programs are authorized within Chapters 110 and 766 of the Florida Statutes for state-wide Volunteer Health Services efforts.
Chapter 110 Volunteers
Anyone who wants to donate goods and/or services. A variety of opportunities are available in many DOH facilities to individuals with clerical, administrative, technical, and professional skills.Â
Volunteer Health Care ProviderS
Allows private licensed health care providers to volunteer their services to medically needy residents of Florida. Providers can volunteer in freestanding clinics or in their private offices or facilities.Â
Participating Providers
The Volunteer Healthcare Provider Program’s listing of participating providers is required by section 766.1115(8)(b), Florida Statutes. Additional information provided by the listing includes provider city, provider county, number of patient visits, and number of volunteer hours. This listing does not include providers who have opted out of participating in this online listing and those who are currently in the process of contracting with the Florida Department of Health.
