Determinations
In accordance with the 2004 reauthorization of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, a determination of the extent to which each LES meets requirements of Part C will be made by ESSO. Determinations will be based on historical noncompliance, demonstration of reliable and valid data, and recent audit reports.
Determination categories are:
- Meets Requirements
- Needs Assistance
- Needs Intervention
- Needs Substantial Intervention
Technical Assistance (TA)
Each LES has a designated Program Manager who will serve as their lead contact person at Early Steps State Office (ESSO). The LES Management Team will work with their designated ESSO Program Manager as needed for guidance and assistance regarding program administration and service implementation issues which may develop. The link between the quality assurance process and technical assistance support is key to ensuring statewide consistency of program implementation and continuous improvement.
