Title V of the Social Security Act authorizes appropriations to states to improve the health of all mothers and children in the form of the Maternal and Child Health (MHC) Block Grant.
Each year, Florida, along with other states apply for funds to provide maternal and child health services to pregnant women, infants and children, and in particularly children with special health care needs.
Needs Assessment

The 2025 survey closed on February 12. Thank you for providing valuable feedback to support Florida’s efforts in addressing the health care needs of women, infants, children, and children with special health care needs.
Every five years, the block grant requires states to conduct a comprehensive needs assessment to identify priority issues and areas of concern.
