First Lady Casey DeSantis announced the Cancer Connect Collaborative on Febuary 23, 2023, an expansion of Florida Cancer Connect that will assemble a team of medical professionals to analyze and rethink Florida’s approach to combatting cancer.
The collaborative advises the Department and the Florida Legislature on developing a holistic approach to the state’s efforts to fund cancer research, cancer facilities, and treatments for cancer patients.
The collaborative may make recommendations on proposed legislation, proposed rules, best practices, data collection and reporting, issuance of grant funds, and other proposals for state policy relating to cancer research or treatment. Esbalished by section 381.915, F.S.
