The Information Clearinghouse on Developmental Disabilities Advisory Council, mandated byย section 383.141, Florida Statutes,ย was created to advise the Florida Department of Health on establishing and maintaining a clearinghouse of information related to developmental disabilities.

The clearinghouse, Bright Expectations, provides resources and information on developmental disabilities for pregnant women, health care providers, parents, and families.

Council Appointments

The council is composed of health care providers and caregivers who provide health care services for persons who have developmental disabilities.

The council consists of nine members, serving four year terms, as follows:

  1. Three members appointed by the Governor
  2. Three members appointed by the President of the Senate
  3. Three members appointed by the Speaker of the House of Representatives
