Due toย recent changes inย Chapter 58A-6, Florida Administrative Code, the food service activities for adult day care centers are address in the same manner as all other food service establishments, which are issued a sanitation certificate (food license)


Physical Plant or Group Care Inspection

There is no group care or physical plant inspection component from the Florida Department of Health. The Department works with adult day care facilities to ensure safe food service practices.


Food Inspections

The Florida Department of Health does inspect all level of food service whether food is catered into the facility or prepared directly by the facility. A Florida Department of Health food permit (sanitation certificate), is required for any level of food service activity. Equipment requirements and fees are determined by the extent or level of food preparation and service.
