The program works to increase water safety and prevent drowning in Florida by providing free swimming lessons to eligible Florida families.
Application Period Is Open
The Swimming Lesson Voucher Program will accept applications and award vouchers until funding is exhausted.
Voucher Eligibility
- Proof of income (gross family income of no more than 200% of the federal poverty guidelines)
- Proof of Florida residency
- Child’s date of birth (only children ages 1-7 at the time of application are eligible)
- Lessons must begin within 180 days from date of voucher issuance
Vouchers are provided to eligible families until all program funding has been exhausted.
The Swim Lesson Voucher Program (Senate Bill 544) was approved by Governor DeSantis on April 15, 2024.
